Let's talk a little about packaging and why its so important. After the roasting process the beans are hot.  We allow them to cool and immediately seal them in a one way valve package. What's the advantage of the one way valve ?

During the roasting process the cooling coffee beans give off gases.  The one-way valve allows the gases in the sealed bag to escape.  Otherwise the bag would explode.

The second advantage of the one-way valve is equally important.  In allowing the gases to escape it also pushes out any oxygen in the bag, leaving all the flavor, oils and aromas locked in. 

Air is what destroys coffee flavor.

All of our coffees, in all pack sizes (except 20 lb. bulk), have one-way valve packaging.  You can be assured of receiving fresh tasting coffee every time.

As an added convenience all our coffees, in 8 oz., 1 lb., 2 lb., pack sizes, have zip lock closure.  5lb sizes zip lock has to be requested. A nice feature for storing away a partly empty bag.
